Signing of the Natural Gas Supply Agreement for Kimapco Factory in Aqaba City
His Excellency Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, witnessed—at the Ministry’s headquarters and in the presence of His Excellency Engineer Shehada Abu Hdeib, Chairman of the Board of Kemapco—the signing of agreements to connect and supply natural gas to the Kemapco factory in the southern region of Aqaba.
The agreements were signed between Engineer Fouad Rashad, CEO of Jordanian Egyptian Fajr for Natural Gas Company; Engineer Bassam Al-Za’amot, General Manager of Arab Fertilizers and Chemicals Industries Company (Kemapco); and Accountant Mohammad Al-Trabelsi, CEO of Tanmia for Natural Gas Company, to implement the project for supplying the factory with natural gas.
This project comes as part of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources’ strategy to expand the use of natural gas, with the aim of reducing the burden of energy and operational costs on the industrial sector, enhancing its competitiveness in regional and global markets, positively impacting the national economy, and contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions.
The natural gas connection agreements with the Kemapco factory are the first of their kind in the city of Aqaba, under which the factory will benefit from the program offered by Tanmia for Natural Gas Company to provide natural gas utilization solutions.
